RIM is about to launch an app called News Feeds for keeping track of your favourite websites via RSS (Really Simple Syndication, for those who are unfamiliar). There’s a new app in town! Jam11 for BlackBerry was released in its beta version to let us BlackBerry users stream our iTunes library to a BlackBerry smartphone. It can stream SHOUTcast internet radio stations (up to 40,000). You can use this app over WiFi or 3G.

You BlackBerry fans can also enjoy live and recorded TV on the go but it’s only available for a few devices. You can download the beta app for the Bold 9700, Bold and Curve 8520 and 8900.

Remember, the streaming apps will work over 3G or WiFi, so you won’t have to miss That’s So Raven just because you’re not near a TV. You should be careful about streaming over 3G if you’re on a tiered data plan though, as this can lead to some heavy data usage very quickly.

The BlackBerry Traffic application that has been chilling out in a closed beta format for the last couple of months is now done testing and available to the public at large for free.

For those unfamiliar, it’s is a turn-by-turn directions app made by RIM that instead of showing a map, would display a simple straight line with estimates about how busy each section of the trip would be. This ties in with a new API that RIM launched with OS 6 that would mine anonymous location data and feed it to developers.
